There are currently 14 children in full-time care. By working tirelessly with the families – providing them with vital support services and parenting skills programmes – we have reached the stage where seven of our children are expected to be reunited with their families within the next six months.

In addition, eleven of our children spent their recent holidays with immediate or extended families.

There will always be challenges with such traumatized children, but James House continues to evolve and improve in a number of areas, with the introduction of more therapeutic services, a pocket money incentive system, a healthier menu (based on input from UCT nutritionists), and an additional child care worker.
