Life Centre
kardol_02.jpgThe Life Centre programme aims to realise potential inherent in youth, diverting them away from destructive behaviour and providing them with empowering opportunities.

The programme provides hope to young people faced with the inevitability of unemployment, lack of resources to study further in an environment that is fraught with family breakdown, substance abuse, and the dearth of constructive support structures to nurture the gifts and talents of young people.  The Life Centre is a vital intervention in the lives of young people as it has a profound effect on belief in self, enabling young people to channel their energies into hopeful, life giving activities and in finding by themselves a role in society where they feel that they are contributing to their own growth and able to connect with the world in a way that they become productive and caring members of society.  It is an intervention that if replicated around the country would make a significant contribution to the lives of young people in South Africa.

The Life Centre team is passionately committed to empowering young people to take responsibility for their own lives in ways that allow their dignity and self esteem to shine.  The programme has grown from strength to strength and it has changed the lives and attitudes of many young people to the extent of creating a platform for active and meaningful participation within the family, amongst peers and siblings and within the society at large.  It has transformed the lives of young people bound up in drugs and criminal activities to living a life built on hope and practical realities.
