James House invites you to help us make a difference in the lives of the children of Hout Bay.
You can get involved by volunteering your services, supporting us financially, or donating items such as non-perishable food items, or school supplies such as stationary. Please see the list below for current needs.

Our Current Needs are:
Non-perishable food items (for food parcels we distribute across our services as well as for the residential children and Safe Park feeding programme)
suggested items are: Jam, peanut butter, flour, sugar, tea, coffee, canned food items, beans, sweets, dried milk etc.
We also are in need of bread & meat.
Soup Ingredients - with winter coming we provide hot soup and bread for the Safe Park and residential children.
Educational Supplies - across all our programmes
Stationary - Crayons, pencils, colouring-in books, calculators (regular & scientific), maths sets, rulers, erasers, pencil sharpeners, kokis, highlighters, exercise books,
Reading Books (Xhosa, English & Afrikaans), Encyclopaedias, school bags, lunch boxes
School uniform - Boys & Girls age 6-18 Clothes - Grey flannel long trousers, School jerseys, white school shirts, socks, shorts, all clothing
School shoes (sizes 2-10 esp 4,5,6), & soccer boots
Toiletries / hygiene toothpaste/ brushes , deodorant, soap, face cloths, toilet paper, shampoo & conditioner, antiseptic creams, bandages, elastoplast
Cleaning supplies - washing powder, dishwashing liquid, amnonia, bleach, dish towels, swabs
Linen - Towels (any colour or size), pillows, foam bunk mattresses, duvets / comforters, single fitted sheets
Kitchen items - Very large cooking pots, forks & spoons, plastic mugs, soup bowls
Furniture - cupboards, shelving -
Residential childrens new study area - educational posters, desks, etc.
Recreation - Educational toys & games, art & craft supplies, soccer boots
Administration - Data projector, computers (esp needed for young people to write up CV's and apply for jobs), laminator
Maintenance - lawnmower, brush cutter, garden tools
Valley Church, Hout Bay have kindly volunteered to collect & store any of the above items on our behalf for which we are very grateful. Valley Church is conveniently located above Checkers Supermarket
