The Safe Parks

The Safe Parks operate from the James House and from July 2011 within Hangberg. They provide a safe space where children can participate in developmental activities, receive life skills training and a meal, and simply play and be children.

The Safe Parks offer educational games, homework assistance, counselling, and programmes that promote childrens' rights. The Safe Parks are attended by an average of 150 children a day. In recent times we have been able to offer more varied programmes through structured volunteer participation.

In 2010, there were as many as 1138 visits by children to the Safe Park.
